Xiris Releases MQTT Interface for Weld Cameras

Xiris is pleased to announce that its latest version of WeldStudio™ software includes an MQTT interface.  The Xiris MQTT interface enables secure data communication between a Lincoln Power Wave® welding power supply and Xiris weld camera system.  It allows welding data to be synchronized and displayed on-screen, and recorded for offline review, with the weld camera video data. Each frame of the welding data can be annotated in real-time so that the operator can relate the image of the welding process with the welding parameters at that point in time.

Applications suitable to an MQTT interface include remote welding applications where the welder does not have access to the proximity of the weld; critical welding applications where the process inputs (material, temperature, position) need to be carefully monitored for quality control or trouble shooting; or welder training sessions where a student welder can see what their resulting weld looks like based on the settings of the welding supply.
