there is no risk of weld contami- nation.
Each PurgElite® features IntaCal®, a purge gas feed device, which means there is no complicated valve to adjust and set. A centre- piece glow positioning indicator RootGlo® comes as standard to ensure the system can be posi- tioned accurately inside the tube or pipe. In addition there is no metal braiding on the high temperature resistant gas hose connecting the two inflatable dams, which could be accidentally welded to the root of a joint or which could scratch the internal bore of an electro pol- ished tube on entry or on removal.
Quick connect/disconnect fittings with collets and ‘O’ ring seals for gas tight sealing, fitted with anti-release circlip are fitted to all Systems to prevent parts acciden- tally separating inside pipes.
HFT®’s innovative PurgeGate® Valve is available as an accessory, a unique one way valve suitable for all types of Inflatable Pipe Weld Purging Systems. PurgeGate® reg- ulates the gas flow and pressure

during weld purging to prevent the dams from over inflating and bursting.
Heat Resistant Covers with a rating up to a temperature of 300oC are available as accessories to protect the inflatable dams. These are attached with ties sewn into the covers.
ByusingPurgElite®TubeandPipe Purging Systems companies can save significant amounts of money in both time and inert gas costs.
HFT® offer a live demonstration where required and they can send a return on investment chart to show you how quickly it pays to use up to date technology from the very first weld.

TEG-1000 Tungsten Electrode Grinder
The Tungsten Electrode is one of the most important variables involved in TIG welding. Preparing your Tungsten Electrode correctly will help to improve arc starting, arc stability and weld quality.
Tungsten Electrode Grinders are a convenient, safer and more accu- rate way than other methods of grinding Tungsten Electrodes. Huntingdon Fusion Techniques HFT® now manufacture the TEG- 1000 Tungsten Electrode Grinder with a diamond wheel, producing
smooth, perfect surface finishes that eliminate arc jumping leading to consistent welds.
Ron Sewell, Chairman for HFT® said: “An incorrectly ground Tung- sten Electrode tip may drop into the weld pool and create a tung- sten inclusion that could lead to a weld cut-out or reject, either way, leading to additional welding costs and lost time. It can also result in a huge reduction in tip life and changes in arc voltage.”
“Even if you have some of the best welding equipment available, without a properly prepared Tung- sten Electrode, your weld could always be comprised!”
The use of the TEG-1000 Grinder will give repeatable Tungsten Elec- trode points every time, enabling consistent arc performance and welding results. Sizes 1.0 to 3.2 mm can be ground as standard, with other sizes catered for on request.
