Dear Members, dear Readers,
As ever, it is my pleasure to wish you a warm welcome to the latest edition of ITAtube Journal, the International Tube Association’s popular publication – and the last edition for 2019.
We can look back on an exciting and extremely busy year – which is of course far from over, with major expos such as the Fabtech in Chicago still ahead – but we prefer by far to train our sights on 2020 and the next really major event in the Messe Düsseldorf cal- endar.
Experts from around the world will once again converge on Düs- seldorf and its well-known trade fair grounds for Tube Düsseldorf, March 30 – April 3 2020. Many guests have been coming for years and the Tube expo on its home ground is a regular in calendars throughout our industry sector.
As ever, the fair’s Students Day (April 3) is organized by ITA and gives young talent a chance to hobnob with experts and profes- sionals with a little more experi- ence – which they are naturally delighted to share.
To cast our minds back just for a moment: Last April saw of course our ITA Conference 2019 under the heading Trend-setting Tech- nologies and Strategies for Tubes & Pipes. Experts and professionals from all over the world convened at the trade fair grounds of Messe Düsseldorf in Germany for a 3-day exchange of expertise and innova- tive ideas.
Focussing on consolidation and adaptability faced with chang- ing markets and an increasingly high-tech environment, numerous presentation papers provided a basis for discussion. As promised, those papers were made avail- able to members in the weeks that followed the Conference and will very soon be accessible to non-members.
The event proved popular and demand ensures that we are now planning the ITA Conference 2021. We are certain that inter- est will grow and we will keep colleagues and members informed of our progress throughout the coming months. News of devel- opments will be available in fol- lowing Journal editions, on the main website, and the bespoke Conference website will be kept constantly updated whenever new details become available.
Members can of course expect to see the familiar newsletters when- ever there is anything to report. As it says in our mission state- ment, we actively seek to foster knowledge exchange and network- ing, and to this end have a great deal planned for Q4 2019 and for the new business year.
Stay with us to stay informed, and enjoy the read!
