Valve World Americas 2019 – ITA Seminar
Tube & Pipe Industry Development Seminar 2019 “Trend-setting technologies and strategies for tubes and pipes”
19 June 2019
organised by the
International Tube Association e.V. at Valve World Americas Expo & Conference
However, the market situation is volatile, since tariffs and increases in raw material prices mean production prices are going up. Rising trade tensions are also taking their toll. Now, the major growth drivers for our industries may be more complex production techniques (new technology) and the rise of alternative materials.
With this in mind, the ITA team is organizing a Tube & Pipe Indus- try Development Seminar at the 2019 Valve World Americas Expo in Houston, Texas, on the subject of technologies and strategies to take the industry forward.
We would like to invite members and colleagues to give a presenta- tion at the event, which takes place from 19-20 June 2019, and are now open for abstract submis- sions. This call for papers is free of charge.
The theme of the Tube & Pipe Development Seminar 2019 is:
Trend-setting Technologies And Strategies For Tubes & Pipes Interested speakers are invited to submit an abstract (max. 300 words) describing the main ideas of their papers together with the presenter’s résumé/CV (max. 200 words). Abstracts should focus on technical/economic classifica- tions, new technologies, moderni- zation, R&D or recent case studies rather than company presenta- tions. Joint presentations between pipeline operators and technology providers are welcome. All propos- als received will be considered by our Technical Committee.
Each speaker gets a presentation time of 20 minutes plus Q&A. The presented papers will be published in the conference proceedings and distributed to the confer- ence attendees. All abstracts and papers will also be available free of charge for ITA members six months after the conference.

Latest market reports say the future of the global industrial pipe market looks promising, with new and increasing opportunities in power generation, the petro- chemical and automotive indus- tries, and industrial processing. Analysts at a recent industry con- ference predicted that demand for steel tubular products for the energy sector in the US will prob- ably remain steady beyond 2018.
US steel tariffs seem to be having the desired effect on domestic steel production figures, which are growing steadily. This, coupled with a continued rise in oil prices, is a positive influence on tube and pipe markets and pretty much all associated industries, both upstream and downstream.
