In October next year the 5th Tubotech exhibition takes place at the Imigrantes Exposicões facility in São Paulo, the largest city in South America. The influential show runs concurrently with Metaltech, set to develop into the most important wire exhibition in South America. Once again the ITA is the major international sponsor of Tubotech and will be exhibiting on a joint booth with sister organisation the International Wire & Machinery Association (IWMA), major international sponsor of Metaltech.

Abitam- Brazilian Metal Pipes and Accessories Industry Association- is the official local sponsor of Tubotech and is fully convinced that the event is the key trade fair for business and technology in the tube and pipe sector. The president of Abitam, Carlos Eduardo de Sa Baptista, states that “Tubotech is a fair that surpasses its previous results, in number of exhibitors as well as in exhibition area, volume of business and technological innovations. The event has shown an extraordinary drive resulting in a synergy between visitors from Brazil and abroad that will enable them to find in one venue new product launches, leading edge technologies and supply alternatives that result in business opportunities for everyone.”

Tubotech offers free entry to trade visitors and its opening hours are 14:00 to 21:00 hours on each of its three days. Apart from its shared information booth with the IWMA, a stand well equipped with support services for member exhibitors and visitors alike, the ITA is offering its “Samba” exhibition packages to tube and pipe organisations. Most important also is the experienced advice that the ITA can provide to attendees, essential for first time visitors to the exhibition in particular.

The 2007 event drew a very positive response from many exhibitors and visitors. Their comments can be seen on this page of the organiser’s website: www.metaltech.tmp.br/ A total of 11,921 square metres of exhibitor space was booked for the 2007 exhibition compared with 5,500 for the 2005 event. The number of exhibitors increased nearly three times in 2007 compared to 2005. Similarly, visitor attendance grew from 8,700 in 2005 to just over 12,000 in 2007. This dramatic increased was helped in no small measure by the introduction to the event of Messe Düsseldorf as the organisers and promoters of international exhibits from outside South America.

A high level of satisfaction with Tubotech was achieved in 2007 with 71% rating the event “very satisfying/satisfying” and 86% evaluating expectations for business post exhibition as “very promising/promising”. As a vital platform for organisations interested in gaining access to the important Brazilian and South American markets Tubotech has no equal in the view of the ITA.
