TUBE RUSSIA 2010 - SHOW REPORT

Tube Russia 2010 – room for optimism in the market

Despite the eighth edition of the foremost tube and pipe exhibition for the CIS and Russian regional market following on just a few weeks after the 2010 Tube Düsseldorf there was some cause for optimism amongst exhibitors that at last this very important market had turned a corner.

Tube Russia, held in conjunction with Metallurgy Litmash and Aluminium/Non-Ferrous 2010 also coincided with the large Metalloobrabotka machine tool trade fair.  Excluding the latter exhibition there were just over 250 exhibitors from 25 countries, of which 130 were international companies.  The severe downturn in the Russian market over the previous two years is well known but there were definite indications that many local consumers were once again ready to discuss investment projects in new equipment and the latest technology.  Significant national exhibitor groups from Germany, Austria, Italy and China participated this year in this Messe Düsseldorf organised trade fair.

The ITA, which has sponsored Tube Russia since its inception in 2003, recruited a higher than expected number of new member applicants during the exhibition’s four days at the world class Krasnaya Presnya Expocentr Fairgrounds on the banks of the Moskva River in the centre of Moscow.  Overall there was an encouraging outcome for most participants at this year’s interim exhibition and the anticipated further recovery in the region’s markets should see even more positive results at the 2011 edition of Tube Russia, which next year will be held in tandem with wire Russia from 23-26 May 2011.
