Valuable warning to companies doing business in China for the first time or with a new customer

Thanks to information given to both sister organisations the International Wire & Machinery Association (IWMA)and the International Tube Association (ITA) by an IWMA member, who narrowly avoided being defrauded we bring the industry's attention to a scam that is being carried out by a number of organisations in China.

After "negotiating" attractive orders with a supplier these unscrupulous organisations in China ask for "notarization" and/or "quality assurance" fees as a government requirement for the import of the goods.
