Mair has expanded its range of machinery for tube and bar

Mair designs and supplies fully integrated lines for bar and tube. Benefiting from its know-how in custom-made plants, its range of production has been recently boosted: Drawing benches processing tubes/bars from less than ½" up to 16" OD. Mair lines include: head pointing, automatic string insertion, high speed drawing, downstream processing, straightening, pointing head cut off, multi-cut and stacking.

Multi-roll straighteners for tubing from 10 to 250mm diameter, straightening at up to 300m/min. Mechanical features, high-quality electrical parts and dedicated software ensure best results in straightness, ovality and surface finishing. API tube integrated finishing lines producing steel tubes up to 12" OD. Lines include automatic sampling, salvage operation, ID-scarfing, end finishing, testing, weighing, length measuring, marking, oiling, packaging and final storing.

Bar inspection and conditioning plants to detect internal/surface defects and sorting bars into prime or defective.

Mair systems provide prime bars stacking, strapping, weighing and collecting, whereas defective bars are conditioned, collected in bundles or rejected.

Two-rolls straightening and reeling machines processing black bars, rolled or forged, or bright bars, peeled or drawn, from 6 to 200mm diameter. Optimised hyperbolic rolls straighten and improve bar surface roughness.

Bar-to-bar and coil-to-bar peeling lines processing black bars (hot rolled, hammered or forged) into precision bright bars from 6 to 600mm diameter. Mair peeling machines, known for their easy operation and maintenance, assure a high productivity of quality bright bars.

Bar centreless grinding lines processing bars from 2 to 130mm diameter.

Machine flexibility allows rough machining for high removal capacity (more than 40kg/h) or fine cutting with best size tolerances (IT6) and smooth surface (0.15-0.3μm).
