Pipe & Tube Houston 07
Work on the upcoming Pipe & Tube Houston 07 conference that takes place at the Woodlands Resort, near Houston, Texas from 9-12 September is intensifying for the ITA’s North American Management Board (NAMB).
Chaired by Terry Banach, the NAMB is proud to have secured approval from the ITA’s main board to undertake the first ever joint collaboration with the Tube & Pipe Association, International (TPA) in organising the conference.
Expert speakers from the USA, Germany, Netherlands and India have already applied to speak at the event and further applications are expected soon from the UK, Mexico and Japan.
A key figure in the selection of the technical programme will be Ron Czerski who oversees technical matters for the NAMB. He will work both with the TPA’s organising committee as well as the ITA’s Technical Management Committee (TMC) to establish the final timetable. These bodies themselves are peopled with experts from around the globe from countries such as Germany, UK, Australia, Canada and Japan as well is the USA itself.
This cooperative event will consist of technical paper presentations, round table discussions, three plant tours, tabletop exhibitions and prime networking opportunities over a period of three days. Fields of interest will include welded-seam tubes, seamless tubes, cold drawing and reducing tubes, extrusion, inspection, finishing, and oil country tubular goods and fittings.
Recent newcomers to the North American Board have had a very positive influence on the development of the joint project with several of them now having active roles in both associations. It is hoped that a successful outcome to Pipe & Tube Houston 07 will pave the way for similar collaborations in the future.
